James White will visit Alabama Tomorrow

James White will visit Alabama tomorrow and Thursday.

As mentioned before, James White has Alabama in his Top 5 schools to transfer to for his final season of eligiblity.  The 6’8″ 225 pound Power Forward has received a lot of attention and White has already visited Boston College.  The strongest program going into next season that he is considering is Georgia, but Avery Johnson hopes to convince him to come to Tuscaloosa and push Jimmie Taylor and Shannon Hale.

The big question that is posed for Coach Fox and his staff is what if White chooses one of the other four schools pursuing him?  Tevin Mack is a near-lock to attend Texas and it does not seem that Fox has an actual backup plan beyond James White.

Willie Clayton will transfer to Georgia State

Clayton is from Thomasville, Georgia and he had a great High School career.  Clayton played for Alan Major up in Charlotte, but with Major’s departure, Clayton decided to transfer.  Ron Hunter picked up a good undersized post player in Clayton.  He will not be eligible next season as he did not graduate, which explains why UGA and Tech did not pursue him.

Willy Kouassi visited North Texas

It seems UGA is likely out of the running for Willy Kouassi who was planning trips to Pittsburgh and Memphis in late April.  Kouassi visited Denton, Texas this past weekend and North Texas Mean Green fans are hoping that he chooses to spend his final year of eligibility there.

Shawn Smith commits to Nevada

6’6″ 230 pound Small Forward Shawn Smith is transferring to Nevada and he’ll be immediately eligible.  Smith was brought up in previous articles as being one of the best graduate transfer players out there and now he’ll be relocating from Huntington, West Virginia to Reno, Nevada.
