Nicolas Claxton keeps the family legacy going by signing with Georgia today.
Nicolas Claxton signed with Georgia today ensuring that he is not only the second signee of the Class of 2017, but that he is the second Claxton to play College Basketball and attend the University of Georgia. Claxton picked Georgia over South Carolina, Baylor, North Carolina State, Florida State and Maryland.
Claxton’s role at Georgia will defend upon his progress with Strength and Conditioning. Claxton projects as a Combo Forward who may start off as a Small Forward. His full scouting report is provided in this article done in May. It is strongly suggested that readers absorb the information in that article. (Other articles from mainstream sources concerning this signing are slightly longer than this one because Claxton is being introduced from these sources for the first time. Of course, Claxton received far more detailed coverage and analysis here starting six months ago.)
Claxton and Hammonds are both versatile Combo Forwards that will usher in a different type of Georgia Basketball Team that could have started as early as last Friday. Positionless Basketball that features Forwards that can play all aspects on offense and contribute similarly on defense becomes inevitable with the signing of Nicolas Claxton.
The Fall Signing Period concludes on Wednesday for the Class of 2017. Georgia has 2-3 more spots available and it is likely that Georgia will be pursuing a Point Guard and a Shooting Guard this Spring.
