Tevin Mack signs with Texas, which is a major score for Shaka Smart.
It was certainly not unexpected that Tevin Mack signs with Texas today. Mack will provide a much needed Small Forward presence for a Texas team that is certainly lacking in that spot. Mack wanted to play for Smart at VCU and it is not a surprise that he followed him to Austin. Mack’s family probably was not 100% on board with the decision, but likely wanted Mack to be happy.
Mack’s second go-round at choosing a program to sign with was less dramatic as far as flair is concerned and it certainly was a bit more awkward. Mack acknowledged that it was the second time that he was making this sort of an announcement.
As far as UGA is concerned, James White had visited Athens and has already visited Alabama, Boston College and Georgia Tech. White, a Power Forward from Jonesboro would fill an immediate need for the Dawgs and UGA is considered the favorite to land him in his final year of eligibility.
