Will Richardson announced that he signed with Oregon.
Will Richardson made his final Official Visit to Eugene and he made his decision to attend the University of Oregon. Going to Oak Hill Academy should have been considered a red flag (in this case a Green Flag) that Richardson was not going to attend UGA. Leaving South Georgia for one of the top preparatory schools that attracts top programs nationwide should have been a clue, but Georgia was apparently in the race until they were clearly out.
Georgia will look to fill the last spot of the Class of 2018 this Spring. The spot will either be filled by a Point Guard, Point Forward or a sharpshooting guard.
Keep in mind, Georgia is recruiting for 2019 Point Guards and if Fox feels that he can wait for another Point Guard in 2019, he will do so. With Turtle Jackson, Tyree Crump and Teshaun Hightower all capable of playing the Point Guard position, Fox may feel that it is a good idea to wait.
Who to keep an eye on this Spring?
- Combo Forward E.J. Montgomery – Auburn decommit from Marietta, Georgia (Wheeler High School)
- Small Forward Khavon Moore – Macon, Georgia (Westside High School)
- Point Guard Dalvin White – Norcross, Georgia (Norcross High School)
Graduate transfers are a possibility and of course Silly Season could shake things up as well. The ongoing FBI Investigation may rear its head and provide opportunities to poach from programs engaging in illicit activity.
College Basketball recruiting is not like College Football, do not jump off the roof. It’s a long recruiting year.
